Amber asked Anthony, Are you sure Kai is your son?๐ฑ ANTHONY ANSWER SHOCK EVERYONE
Amber stood in the living room, her arms folded tightly across her chest. Her voice trembled—not from fear, but from the kind of tension that came when secrets could no longer be contained.
“Anthony,” she said, eyes locked on his, “are you sure Kai is your son?”
The question sliced through the room like broken glass. Shayla, who had been quietly scrolling on her phone at the corner of the couch, froze mid-scroll. Her eyes flicked up—wide, alarmed, calculating.
Anthony’s jaw tightened. For a moment, it looked like he might laugh it off, but the faint twitch at the corner of his mouth gave away that he was rattled. He slowly set his coffee cup down on the table, the clink louder than it should have been.
“Amber,” he began, his voice low, “I’ve always believed Kai was mine… until now.”
The air shifted instantly. Shayla’s phone slipped from her hand and landed on the carpet with a dull thud.
Amber’s heart raced. “Until now?” she repeated, stepping closer. “What changed, Anthony?”
Anthony rubbed the back of his neck, the weight of months—maybe years—of suspicion spilling into his expression. “Last week, I found something,” he said, glancing toward Shayla. “A message… in your phone, Shayla. From Wayne.”
Shayla’s face drained of color. “That’s not—”
“Don’t,” Anthony cut her off sharply. “Don’t lie. It said, ‘He looks just like me. You know it, and so does Amber.’”
Amber closed her eyes for a moment, biting her lip to keep from screaming. The puzzle pieces were snapping into place, each one sharper than the last.
Shayla shot up from the couch. “You don’t know what that means! Wayne’s just—”
“Wayne’s just what?” Amber demanded, stepping in front of her. “Just a friend? Just someone you happen to talk to about Anthony’s son?”
Anthony’s voice boomed now, “If Kai isn’t mine, I need to know the truth. No more lies, Shayla.”
Shayla’s hands shook as she grabbed her phone from the floor. “Fine,” she hissed, “You want the truth? Do the DNA test. But when it proves he’s yours, I hope you choke on your accusations.”
Amber’s eyes narrowed. “You’re awfully confident for someone who’s been avoiding that test for five years.”
The tension in the room was unbearable. Anthony stared at Shayla, his voice calm but laced with fury.
“If Kai’s mine, I’ll love him no matter what. But if you’ve been lying to me… you’re going to see a side of me you never thought existed.”
Amber leaned back against the wall, her heart pounding. She had seen Anthony angry before—but this was different. This was the quiet, dangerous kind of anger that didn’t fade.
The room fell silent, except for the ticking of the clock. The truth was coming, whether Shayla wanted it or not. And when it did… nobody would come out unscathed.
