💥“Finally, Delica revealed the truth to Shayla about herself and Iman.”😱
💥“Finally, Delica revealed the truth to Shayla about herself and Iman.”😱
Shayla was sitting on the edge of the couch, scrolling through her phone, pretending to be calm… but her heart was not calm at all. She had been sensing something strange for weeks — Delica’s sudden silence, Iman’s change of mood, and the way they both avoided being in the same room together.
A soft knock broke her thoughts.
It was Delica.
She stepped inside slowly, almost as if her legs were too heavy to move. Her eyes were red, like she had been battling with herself nonstop.
Shayla frowned.
“Delica… what’s wrong?”
Delica didn’t answer at first.
She walked to the center of the room, took a deep breath, and said, “Shayla… we need to talk. And you’re not going to like any of it.”
Shayla’s heart dropped immediately.
But she kept her voice steady.
“Just say it.”
Delica’s eyes filled with guilt. Her hands shook as she clutched the sleeves of her jacket.
“Shayla… I’ve been hiding something from you. About myself… and about Iman.”
Shayla’s eyes narrowed.
“What about Iman?”
Delica looked away, tears forming.
“I didn’t plan for it to happen. I didn’t want it to happen. But… me and Iman… we got close. Too close.”
The room fell silent.
Shayla blinked slowly, her breath catching.
“Close? How close?”
Delica’s voice cracked.
“We talked a lot behind your back… and he told me things… personal things. And one night… we crossed the line.”
Shayla stood frozen.
It felt like the entire world had paused.
“You… and Iman?” she whispered.
Delica nodded, tears rolling down her cheeks now.
“Yes. And that’s not all… I fell for him. And… he told me he had feelings for me too.”
Shayla staggered back like she’d been hit.
Her chest tightened. Her hands trembled.
“You both betrayed me… like this?”
Delica cried harder.
“Shayla, he didn’t choose me. I didn’t choose this. I’ve been dying inside every day knowing I lied to you. I didn’t have the courage to say it until now.”
Shayla’s voice burst out, full of hurt and disbelief:
“Why now? After everything? After I trusted you?”
Delica swallowed hard.
“Because he told me yesterday that he wants to fix things… with you. He said I was a mistake. And I realized… I can’t keep holding this in while you think we’re okay. You deserve the truth — even if it destroys me.”
Shayla wiped her tears angrily.
“So he used you. And you let him. And now you want me to forgive you?”
“I don’t want forgiveness,” Delica whispered. “I just want you to know the truth… and decide what you want to do.”
Shayla turned away, breathing heavily, trying to hold the pieces of herself together.
The betrayal, the pain… it was too much.
But she wasn’t weak.
Shayla slowly faced Delica again, her eyes cold yet steady.
“You were my sister, Delica. I would’ve fought the world for you. And you did this?”
Delica broke down completely.
“Shayla… please…”
Shayla lifted her hand, signaling her to stop.
“No more. Leave. I need time. I need space. And I need to figure out who I can ever trust again — because clearly… it wasn’t you.”
Delica stepped back, shattered, knowing she had just lost the most important friendship of her life.
She opened the door, looked back one last time with regret pouring from her eyes, and whispered:
“I’m sorry… for everything.”
The door closed.
And Shayla finally let her tears fall.
Because sometimes the truth doesn’t set you free…
It breaks you first.
