“Come in,” Larry said calmly, not knowing his world was about to change.

Bethany walked in with red eyes. “Dad… we need to talk. And this time… you have to listen to me fully.”

Larry noticed her trembling voice. “What’s wrong? Is this about Montana again? I thought everything was settled.”

Bethany shook her head slowly. “No… nothing was settled. You only heard Lynette’s side… not mine.”

Larry frowned. “Then tell me the truth.”

Bethany finally broke down. Tears streamed down her face as she revealed everything — how Lynette provoked her, how the argument turned physical, how threats were made behind closed doors. She described the fear she felt… and the pressure to stay silent so the family wouldn’t fall apart.

Larry’s expression changed from confusion… to shock… to anger.

“You’re telling me Lynette lied to all of us?” he asked.

Bethany nodded. “Yes… and she’s still manipulating everyone. Dad, I stayed quiet because I didn’t want drama… but now it’s gone too far.”

Larry stood up from his chair, pacing the room. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

“Because I thought you wouldn’t believe me,” Bethany whispered. “You always trusted her more.”

The words hit Larry hard. He sat down again, guilt in his eyes. “I should have listened to you from the start.”

Bethany wiped her tears and looked directly at him. “Dad… I’m done being silent. I want to file a court case against Lynette. I want the truth on record… legally.”

Larry hesitated. Filing a case against a family member would destroy relationships forever. But seeing his daughter’s pain… he realized this was bigger than family pride.

“Are you sure?” he asked gently.

Bethany nodded firmly. “Yes. I need justice… not just apologies.”

Just then, the door suddenly opened — and Lynette walked in, having overheard the last part of the conversation.

“A court case?” Lynette said with a cold smile. “You really think you can win against me?”

The tension in the room exploded.

Larry stepped forward. “Enough, Lynette. I just heard the truth… all of it.”

Lynette’s confident expression faded slightly. “You’re choosing her side now?”

“I’m choosing honesty,” Larry replied firmly.

Bethany stood tall for the first time in weeks. “This ends now. No more lies.”

Lynette laughed nervously. “Fine… take me to court. Let’s see what the judge believes.”

She walked out, slamming the door behind her — but this time, Bethany didn’t cry. She looked stronger… determined.

Larry placed a supportive hand on her shoulder. “If you want to fight this legally… I’ll stand with you.”

Bethany took a deep breath. “Thank you, Dad… that’s all I ever wanted.”
